Sue Downes

CEO


Sue Downes is the CEO of Capital Vision Services where she oversees the day-to-day management of the MyEyeDr. offices. Sue co-founded MyEyeDr. in 2001 with one location in the District of Columbia market and has built MyEyeDr. into a nework of more than 350 local optometry practices east of the Mississippi. Each MyEyeDr. office offers comprehensive eyecare services, a wide selection of designer value prescription glasses and sunglasses and standard and specialty prescription contact lenses. The full service eye care management company is headquartered in Vienna, Virginia.

Sue is a leader in the industry who will be honored with the 2018 Person of Vision Award and a previous recipient of the 2016 Pleiades Award given by the Optical Women's Association. She has served on the advisory board for the Columbia Lighthouse of the Blind and Visually Impaired and is a past board member of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce. She is also the recipient of the 2009 Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce "Spirit of Free Enterprise Award", the 2011 Most Influential Woman Award, the 2012 Smart CEO Award for Entrepreneurial Spirit, and the 2015 ACG Corporate Growth Award.

Before joining Capital Vision Services, Sue was Director of Managed Vision Care for Hour Eyes and Eye Care Centers of America. Her career in the optical field spans almost 30 years during which she has worked in almost every aspect of the industry.

David Sheffer

CHIEF GROWTH OFFICER


David Sheffer is Executive Vice President of Corporate Development for Capital Vision Services where he oversees all acquisition activity. David grew up in a family of optometrists and is well-versed in the complexities of running a small practice.

Before joining Capital Vision Services, David was a Vice President with Monitor Clipper Partners, a middle-market private equity fund based in Boston, MA. His entire career has been focused on mergers and acquisitions and he is able to creatively design offers to independent optometrists to allow them to realize their specific goals.

David grew up in Charlotte, NC where he attended Myers Park High School. He went on to earn his undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. David currently resides in North Carolina with his wife and son.

Mike Guelcher

DIRECTOR OF CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT


Mike Guelcher is the Director of Corporate Development at Capital Vision Services where he is responsible for merger and acquisition activity for the Southeastern United States. Prior to joining Capital Vision Services, Mike spent 11 years in the eye care field – 10 of which were at Allergan. The majority of that time was spent leading and directing an Optometric sales force in the Southern US. His teams helped doctors balance their medical service lines with their existing refractive services, creating a balanced offering, elevated care and a more comprehensive healthcare experience for patients.

Mike grew up in Erie, PA where he attend Cathedral Preparatory School. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY and went on to earn his MBA from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. Mike currently resides in Fort Mill, SC with his wife and two children.

Dave Molle

DIRECTOR OF CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT


Dave Molle is the Director of Corporate Development for Capital Vision Services, where he is responsible for merger and acquisition activity in Florida and the Northeast. Dave’s experience in sales and marketing spans nearly 20 years, more than half of which was specifically focused in eye care. He has held roles in sales training and sales management at Allergan, and most recently was Director of Sales for an emerging eye care diagnostics company.

Dave grew up in Morris County NJ, where he attended Kinnelon High School. He holds his BS in Business Management from William Paterson University. Dave currently resides in the St Petersburg, FL area.

Billy Murray

DIRECTOR OF ACQUISITION STRATEGY AND ANALYTICS


Billy Murray is the Director of Acquisition Strategy and Analytics for Capital Vision Services, where he is responsible for working optometrists during the acquisition and integration process to ensure it is a smooth transition for the doctors.

Prior to joining Capital Vision Services, Billy was an Associate at Monitor Clipper Partners, a middle-market private equity fund based in Boston, MA. At Monitor Clipper he focused on a variety of different industries but was particularly focused on healthcare. Before Monitor Clipper, Billy worked at a healthcare focused investment bank in Nashville, TN called Avondale Partners.

Billy grew up in Louisville, KY, where he attended Trinity High School. He holds his BS in Business Administration from Washington and Lee University. Billy currently resides in the Washington, D.C. area.

Dirk Fuqua

DIRECTOR OF CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT


Dirk Fuqua is the Director of Corporate Development at Capital Vision Services where he is responsible for mergers and acquisitions activity for the Midwest United States. Dirk has 25 years of experience in eye care with Bausch & Lomb and Alcon. Areas of responsibility have included sales, sales team development and leadership, national account management across the United States. Dirk grew up in Peoria IL, earned his undergraduate degree from Western Illinois University, and resides in Chicago Illinois.

Brian Whitman

DIRECTOR OF CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT


Brian Whitman is the Director of Corporate Development at Capital Vision Services where he is responsible for merger and acquisition activity for the Northeast. Prior to joining Capital Vision Services, Brian spent 10 years in the eye care field with Alcon Laboratories. He has held multiple roles across sales, sales training and sales management. His teams were spread across many states in the Northeast giving him great insight to many different markets.

Brian grew up in the Orlando, FL area where he attended Lake Brantley High School. He earned his undergraduate degree from Northeastern University in Boston, MA on a Football Scholarship. Brian currently resides in Saratoga Springs, NY with his wife and three children.
